Juan Sebastián Verón put pen to paper on his highly anticipated playing return with Estudiantes on Wednesday morning.
The club president had already confirmed that he would be participating in the pre-season Florida Cup tournament in January having joined Nelson Vivas’ squad for training and has now made it official with an 18-month deal.
The 41-year-old had vowed that if 65% of the boxes at the new stadium were bought, he would return for Estudiantes’ Copa Libertadores campaign in 2017. With the target met, Verón has kept to his word and is getting ready for a return to action two years after his retirement.
La Brujita will earn a minimum salary that will be donated back into the club for further development.
