It was far from Lionel Messi’s greatest game in a Barcelona shirt but Luis Enrique’s still did the impossible and overcame the 4-0 first leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain to win 6-1 in the Camp Nou.
No side has ever managed to comeback from such a deficit but Barcelona had been in confident mood all week after a free scoring couple of games in La Liga.
Luis Suárez’s third-minute header and a Layvin Kurzawa own-goal had cut the lead by half and with the belief now flowing Lionel Messi slammed home a penalty shortly after half time.
When Edinson Cavani volleyed an away goal it seemed the tie was lost with Barcelona needing three more in the final 30 minutes.
The star of the show Neymar curled in a wonderful freekick in the 88th minute and when the Brazilian slotted in a penalty it left Sergi Roberto to snatch a dramatic injury time sixth.
This Barcelona side are hardly strangers to success but this victory will live long in the memory and go down in Champions League history.
