Aldosivi enjoyed a decent summer break with victories over River Plate and Boca Juniors in Mar del Plata and while Atlético de Rafaela proved a difficult side to breakdown on Monday evening, Neri Bandiera’s second half goal proved enough to earn a first three points of 2017.
An evenly contested game was decided by Bandiera’s back post volley after a corner had sneaked all the way through and although La Crema will feel they could have got something from the game, another defeat leaves them a long way from safety at the foot of the descenso.
A little later in Santa Fe and Eduardo Domínguez began his tenure with Colón, aiming to build on the good work of Paolo Montero over the first half of the season.
It wasn’t the best opening 45 minutes for El Sabalero as on the stroke of half time, Emiliano Tellechea bundled in the opening goal courtesy of a deflection to hand Olimpo the lead.
The response after the break however was positive and within five minutes the impressive Germán Conti headed the home side level.
Cristian Bernardi’s sending off shortly after perhaps derailed any hopes of pushing on for a win but Colón held on for a point.
