Argentinos Abroad: Franco Cervi opens the scoring as Benfica thrash Vitória Sport Clube to clinch title (VIDEO)

Benfica captured their fourth consecutive Portuguese league title on Saturday after thumping Vitória Sport Clube 5-0 in the Estádio da Luz.

Former Rosario Central forward Franco Cervi put the Águias ahead early and while Chucky may have had an inconsistent first season in Portugal, flashes of the 22-year-old’s quality have been evident.

Further goals from Raúl Jiménez, Pizzi and a Jonas brace completed the rout and wrapped up a 36th league title for Benfica.

It’s a first league winners’ medal for Cervi while fellow Argentine’s Eduardo Salvio and Lisandro López are celebrating yet another championship win in Lisbon.
