After the victories of Sarmiento and Atlético de Rafaela on Friday, Temperley needed to make sure they too picked up three points in the relegation battle and Gustavo Álvarez’s side did just that with a 2-1 win over Talleres.

Mauro Guevgeozián poked El Gasolero ahead from close range, Christian Chimino slammed home a penalty fifteen minutes from time and although Jonathan Menéndez volleyed a late goal back for the visitors it wasn’t enough.

The result lifts Temperley above Olimpo and out of the relegation zone for now but the Aurinegro host Huracán on Sunday.

Earlier in Victoria, Tigre’s woeful run of results continued as fellow strugglers Vélez cruised to a 3-0 win and the defeat prompted Facundo Sava to walk away after only ten matches in charge.

Nicolás Domínguez’s deflected strike broke the deadlock before second goals from Matías Vargas and Mariano Pavone wrapped up a thoroughly deserved win for El Fortín.

In the Gigante de Arroyito, Rosario Central were unable to find a way past a Colón side despite creating plenty of opportunities. With a share of the points both sides remain in contention for the Copa Sudamericana qualifying spots.

Tigre  0 – 3  Vélez Sarsfield

Temperley  2 – 1  Talleres

Rosario Central  0 – 0  Colón
