San Martín are the seventh Primera side to go out of this year’s Copa Argentina to lower league opposition but none have been beaten quite as emphatically as the Verdinegro were against Metropolitana B club Atlanta on Monday.

A horrendous defensive mix-up gifted Diego Nakacha with an early opener and the forward doubled the lead after 25 minutes. Emanuel Dening came close to pulling one back when his strike from outside the penalty area came back off the post but shortly after Diego Dorregaray ran clear to wrap up the tie with a third.

Atlanta will play giant-killers Pacífico in the last 32, after they dispatched of Estudiantes on Sunday.

A little earlier on Monday, Aldosivi left it late but avoided the drama of penalties and another potential upset against Central Córdoba.

Gastón Díaz had given El Tiburón a first half lead from the penalty spot but Arnaldo González’s spot kick levelled the match and looked to be forcing the tie to a shootout. However, deep into the three minutes of injury time, Jonatan Benedetti controlled a long ball over the top and skipped around the goalkeeper to snatch victory.

With the win Aldosivi set up an all Primera last 32 clash against Vélez.

Aldosivi  2 – 1  Central Córdoba

San Martín  0 – 3  Atlanta
