It might have been the last game of the season with next to nothing riding on the result but that didn’t prevent Caruso Lombardi from getting rather agitated after suffering his first defeat back as Tigre manager. The fiery coach suggested that the Grondona influence at Arsenal had helped their victory but there was little to complain about over the two goals that won it for the home side.
Carlos Luna’s had given Lombardi’s side an early lead but it was immediately cancelled out by Leonardo Rolón’s smart, backwards header. With the game heading for a draw, centre-back Marcos Curado snatched the points, fifteen minutes from time.
In Paraná, Damián Arce’s accurate finish earned Patronato a point after David Barbona’s well worked opener had given Atlético Tucumán an early lead. Neither side had much to play for but given how the home side have finished the season, they look prime relegation candidates next season.
