Temperley look all set for another relegation dogfight in Argentina’s top flight but will no longer need to worry about the Copa Argentina after Defensa y Justicia knocked out El Gasolero with a 2-0 win in the Cilindro de Avellaneda.
Nelson Vivas’ somewhat new look Defensa y Justicia side were good value for their win as goals from Ciro Rius and Matías Sosa in the final ten minutes of each half were enough to seal it.
Rius, back from his loan spell with Lanús, tapped in from close range after good work from man of the match Gonzalo Castellani and with ten minutes remaining youngster Matías Sosa’s deflected effort doubled the lead.
