When Jorge Sampaoli names his Argentina squad for the friendlies in March, Diego Perotti will be hoping to force his way into the plans and helped his cause with a goal in Roma’s 2-0 win over Udinese.
“We’re getting back on track to where we were in the first half of the season,” Diego Perotti said after being slipped in and finishing well to cap off a victory in stoppage time.
In-form Cengiz Under opened the scoring 20 minutes from time and Perotti wrapped things up to take Roma into third , two points ahead of Inter Milan.
As an option on the left side, Perotti’s performances at Roma will not have gone unnoticed and the 29-year-old could be included in Argentina’s squad.
Ángel Di María’s fine form in 2018 continued on Saturday with another goal in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-2 win over Strasbourg.
The Argentinian was left out of the starting eleven for the Champions League defeat against Real Madrid but marked his seventh league goal of the season midway through the first half as PSG responded emphatically to Strasbourg’s early opener.
Julian Draxler and Neymar had already cancelled out the visitor’s goal and directly from the resulting kick-off, Di María stole the ball and slotted in number three.
The 5-2 scoreline, which also saw Javier Pastore chalk up an assist, saw PSG go 12 points clear and now Unai Emery has decisions to make ahead of the second leg against Madrid.
