Gimnasia remain bottom of promedio after draw with Huracán (VIDEO)

It was yet another warm welcome for Diego Maradona on Friday evening and yet the Argentinian icon’s relegation threatened Gimnasia couldn’t take the much needed three points from Huracán in Parque Patricios.

After plenty of smiling, waving and a little spot of singing, Maradona had barely sat down in his generously awarded throne when Rodrigo Gómez gave Huracán the lead. There is little doubting the quality of Droopy’s right-foot and allowed space just outside the box with a minute on the clock, Gómez curled the ball into the bottom corner.

Huracán’s generosity didn’t end with a chair though and within ten minutes Gimnasia were level. Nicolás Romat stepped out of defence and lost the ball and as it was clipped into the space left by the centre-back, Jhonathan Agudelo dashed in behind to slot past Antony Silva.

Huracán will certainly feel they deserved more than only a point as Norberto Briasco and Nicolás Cordero both headed against the crossbar either side of the break and Martín Ojeda drew a superb stop from Jorge Broun but Gimnasia held on.

That resolve has seen Gimnasia go unbeaten in eight games but with too many draws El Lobo remain bottom of the relegation table.
