San Lorenzo salvage point after Pulga golazo plus all Friday & Saturday’s Copa Maradona highlights (VIDEO)

A dip in form for San Lorenzo has left their Copa Diego Maradona hopes in the balance and while Mariano Soso’s side saved a point from the visit of Colón on Saturday evening they remain without a win in Group B of the Fase Campeonato.

Without a goal in the three games prior it was a relief to San Lorenzo when Bruno Pittón rifled them in front after 20 minutes and the Cuervos remained on course to end their short winless run until well into the second half.

Two goals in five minutes turned the game on its head as first Wilson Morelo twisted away from two to score a superb equaliser before Luis Rodríguez bent a wonderful first time finish beyond Fernando Monetti.

Following their defeat last week victory was important for Colón too but a handball against full-back Alex Vigo in stoppage time allowed Óscar Romero to smash in a last gasp equaliser from the spot.

Talleres then took top spot in Group B until at least Monday evening after a 1-1 draw with Atlético Tucumán.

An early penalty converted by Javier Toledo gave Atlético the lead but the visitors were unable to hold on. Fifteen minutes from time Boca loanee Mateo Retegui stooped to head in Tomás Pochettino’s cross.

Talleres were good value for their draw yet may feel it was two points dropped with Banfield or Gimnasia able to go top with a win on Monday.

Group A in the Fase Campeonato will really take shape on Sunday evening with Huracán hosting River Plate and Independiente taking on Boca Juniors but for now Argentinos Juniors lead the way after a hard fought 1-0 win over Arsenal.

Gabriel Hauche turned in the only goal on the stroke of half time and Diego Dabove’s side held on for all three points.

Huracán, the only side in the group still with the possibility of maintaining a 100% record, host River Plate on Sunday night and can jump above Argentinos Juniors.

In the Fase Complementacion battling for a chance to qualify for the 2022 Copa Sudamericana, Newell’s Old Boys continued their fine start with a 3-0 win over Godoy Cruz.

Maxi Rodríguez rolled in a simple opener on the counter before Godoy Cruz centre-forward was unfortunate to head the ball into his own net, doubling the visitors lead.

Godoy Cruz were reduced to ten men when defender Leonel González foolishly shoved Alexis Rodríguez and although Pablo Pérez levelled things up with his second yellow card, Alexis Rodríguez ran clear to put Newell’s three-up.

Racing are in La Plata to play Estudiantes on Sunday with both sides looking for their first points while Vélez look to keep pace with Newell’s away to Central Córdoba.

And finally Aldosivi picked up their first win of the group against Patronato in Paraná.

Federico Andrada scored just after the hour mark and Patronato had Brian Nievas sent off swiftly afterwards all but ending hopes of a comeback.

Copa Sudamericana semi-finalists Defensa y Justicia and Lanús meet on Sunday while Rosario Central host Unión on Monday evening with all clubs still holding out hopes of winning the group.
