Much to think about: Bianchi needs to address Boca’s poor form before it’s too late

Boca‘s form doesn’t improve as they slump to another defeat away to All Boys. Poor defending and a lack of attacking threat saw them lose 2 – 0 in Floresta.
Velez also look off the pace as they lost 1 – 0 to table topping Lanus.
In the earlier relegation battle, Quilmes beat Union 3 – 0 to extend Union’s winless streak amid rioting fans and a lengthy stoppage for riot police to move in. With time running out Union’s frustrations grew resulting in two red cards.
ALL THE GOALS AND REPORTS HERE….

UNION  0 – 3  QUILMES

Union’s dismal run of games without a win continued yesterday as they were brushed aside at home by fellow strugglers, Quilmes. Trailing by 2 at half time thanks to goals by Jacobo Mansilla and Fernando Elizari tthe second half saw frustrated Union fans riot. The game was stopped for 18 mins as the violence spread to the Quilmes supporters and riot police were required to use the water cannons to disperse the Quilmes fans and drive them from the ground. The atmosphere spread to the pitch and after the game restarted Union’s players also lost all discipline and both Juan Pablo Avendaño and Diego Barisone were sent off. In the lengthy stoppage time Quilmes added a third through Sebastian Romero to round off a thoroughly dreadful day for Union.

ALL BOYS  2 – 0  BOCA JUNIORS

Carlos Bianchi witnessed another sloppy defensive performance from his Boca Juniors side as they slid to another defeat this time at the hands of All Boys.  It was former River Plate player Oscar Ahumada who gave All Boys the lead continuing his fine run of form by scoring in every one of All Boys opening 3 games. A simple long ball over the defence was controlled by Ahumada in far too much space and he finished comfortably. The second came from the penalty spot after Boca’s Uruguayan striker, Santiago Silva was judged to have impeded one of the All Boys players as a set piece was delivered. The penalty was dispatched by Angel Vildozo and Boca had no reply. Bianchi will be a little concerned at the start to this season as Boca continue to concede poor goals and yet again fail to offer much going forward.

LANUS  1 – 0  VELEZ SARSFIELD

Lanus continued their 100% start to the new campaign with a close win over defending champions, Velez. The only goal of the game coming in the 36th minute when Silvio Romero finished cooly following some nice build up play. Velez pushed for an equiliser but couldn’t find a way through. Lanus march on and look like the team to beat as they are yet to concede a goal this year and always look a threat on the break. Velez, meanwhile, have started slowly and will not want to drop too many more points if they are to stay in touch.
