Dreadful weather conditions across much of Argentina created a rather wet set of Friday fixtures and undoubtedly impacted on the matches. League leaders, Newell’s Old Boys travelled to Santa Fe to face Colon, in need of a win after their defeat in the Clasico Rosarino. However, it took a late David Trezeguet brace to salvage a point after goals from Gabriel Graciani and Sebastian Prediger had given Colon a surprise two goal lead. Sunday’s match between Boca and San Lorenzo is now more significant is either side can exert some real pressure on Berti’s boys. Earlier, in Sarandi, on a pitch that should probably not have been played on, Arsenal missed the chance to close on Newell’s, as they were held by All Boys. Milton Caraglio headed Alfaro’s title chasing side in front but Jonathan Calleri nodded the visitors level and amid the intense storm in Buenos Aires neither side could find a winner.
