Yesterday evening in Viña del Mar, the draw for the 2015 Copa América took place and Argentina discovered who they will be facing in the group stages of the competition in Chile. With Gerardo Martino’s side in Group B will be Uruguay, Paraguay and invitees, Jamaica.

Argentina, having not won a senior title since the 1993 Copa América are going through somewhat of a drought and after coming so close to capturing the World Cup, this represents a great opportunity for this generation to finally end the run.

Certainly Argentina will go to Chile as one of the favourites, if not the favourites for the trophy but the 2015 edition provides a number of points of intrigue.

Chile, with home advantage and a talented squad, will be looking to claim their first ever Copa América and Brazil will be looking to restore some pride after their humiliating exit from the World Cup.

Argentina’s group also throws up its own points of interest as La Albiceleste will renew rivalries with current holders, Uruguay and Tata Martino will face Paraguay, the side he coached to the runners up position last time out.

Argentina’s schedule will be:

Saturday June 13th Vs Paraguay
(Estadio La Portada de La Serena, La Serena)

Tuesday June 16th Vs Uruguay
(Estadio La Portada de La Serena, La Serena)

Saturday June 20th Vs Jamaica
(Estadio Sausalito, Viña del Mar)
