The important matter of the title deciding matches involving River Plate and Racing remain but on Sunday the last of the Torneo Transición was played out. Boca Juniors finished the season with a record equalling seven home defeats in 2014 after a woeful performance was duly punished by Gimnasia. Crosses from the right on both occasions, aided by some absent defending, allowed Jorge Rojas and Pablo Vegetti to score at the start of both halves and hand Gimnasia victory. Earlier, in Rosario, Lucas Bernardi played his last match for Newell’s before his retirement and in his long playing career he will not have played in many matches with less chances. The season could not end quick enough for Newell’s after a season of disappointment while Lanús will look back on all the points they have dropped and think what might have been.

Newell’s Old Boys  0 – 0  Lanús

Struggling with this one….
