Lautaro Martínez is the latest young Argentine player to be attracting interest from Europe and according to Olé, Real Madrid have representatives watching the striker at the L’Alcúdia International Football Tournament in Spain.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the jewels in Racing’s academy and while he is on the fringes of breaking into Facundo Sava’s first team, it is rumoured that the Spanish giants could offer €8 million.
Martínez is currently in Valencia representing Argentina under-20s and with Real Madrid scouts watching, the forward scored in the 1-1 draw with México earlier in the week.
Los Blancos are thought to be keen to add Martínez to the Castilla squad but in spite of their interest, Racing are not looking to cash in on a player with just a handful of senior appearances.
With several attacking options leaving the squad in this pre-season, Sava is expected to use Martínez far more and so president Víctor Blanco would prefer to retain the youngster.
Valencia are also linked having recently done business with Racing regarding the loan of Rodrigio de Paul.
