Ángel Di María’s fine form at club level at least continued on Friday night as El Fideo struck twice to give Paris Saint-Germain victory over Angers and temporarily join Monaco at the top of Ligue 1.
The 29-year-old’s performances in an Argentina shirt might be the subject of intense scrutiny but in 2017, Di María has been sensational for Unai Emery’s side.
Following his strike some weeks ago, Di María is establishing himself as something of a deadball expert and after 28 minutes, El Fideo curled a superb free kick into the top corner.

Angers certainly made life difficult for the French champions but in the closing stages, Di María wrapped up the win after a swift counter found the pacy, wideman and he drilled the ball into the net.
In the Premier League, Sergio Agüero’s goal scoring streak continued as Manchester City beat Southampton 3-0 at St Mary’s Stadium to strengthen their position in the Champions League places.
It’s an impressive eleven goals from eleven matches now for the 28-year-old and back-to-back victories for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Sergio Aguero is the only player to score in five consecutive Premier League games this season.

After a goalless first half, City were already two up after goals from Vincent Kompany and Leroy Sane when Agüero rose to nod in a Kevin de Bruyne cross and make certain of the three points.
