If indeed Jurgen Klopp is looking at Manuel Lanzini as a possible replacement for Philippe Coutinho then the Liverpool manager will have liked what he saw on Saturday as the Argentinian midfielder scored twice in a convincing West Ham United victory over Huddersfield Town.
Lanzini, had only scored once this season, struck twice in the space of five second half minutes to help the Hammers to their biggest win of the season.
Mark Noble had given the visitors the lead midway through the first half only for Joe Lolley to curl in an equaliser before the break.
However, almost immediately from kickoff Marko Arnautovic volleyed West Ham back in front and then laid on both goals for Lanzini. The first, an emphatic finish past Jonas Lössl, and the second finishing off a counter after Arnautovic had ran from halfway.
Meanwhile in Portugal, Benfica maintained their impressive form to close to within two points of leaders Porto after victory away to fourth-placed Braga.
Franco Cervi slipped in compatriot Eduardo Salvio to open the scoring after ten minutes and second half goals from Jonas and Raúl Jiménez ensured a 3-1 win.
