Eleven days ahead of Argentina’s opening game against South Africa in the Under-20 World Cup, Fernando Batista’s side warmed up with victory over Villarreal B in Valencia.
Despite falling behind to a Daniel Ruiz Romera goal on the half hour mark, Argentina responded well and swiftly equalised through Ezequiel Barco, the Atlanta United star firing in from close range.
The second half brought a whole host of changes and two of those combined to give Argentina the lead, Tomás Chancalay crossing for Lanús’ Pedro De La Vega to score. River Plate forward Julián Álvarez added a third soon after as the Albiceleste secured the win ahead of a second friendly in Spain against Honduras under-20s on Saturday.
The squad will then travel to Poland on May 20th before the World Cup opener on the 25th.
