Team & Goal of the week: Superliga 2019/20 Round Nineteen

It was a little nervy but River Plate came from behind to beat Unión and with it continue on their path to a first league title under Marcelo Gallardo.

Boca Juniors now appear to be River’s only genuine rivals after the Xeneizes defeated Atlético Tucumán in La Bombonera.

That after Argentinos Juniors and Lanús shared the points and the likes of Newell’s, Vélez and Arsenal all dropping points in a heavily congested Superliga table beneath the top two.

Racing Club were the weekend’s big winners after a historic clásico win over Independiente. La Academia battled with nine men for the entire second half to snatch it late on and Sebastián Beccacece will now be looking to finish the season well to book a 2021 Copa Libertadores spot.

In the relegation battle, Gimnasia’s failure to beat Patronato kept both sides in the drop zone and with Aldosivi losing to Central Córdoba, the current bottom three are in real danger. Only perhaps the form of Colón, who drew away to Defensa y Justicia can help on of those three.

A shorted than usual Team of the week, here are the eleven that made the eleven according to SofaScore.
